DWSD FLEET EV CHARGING STATION DEVELOPMENT

About the Project

Michigan Engineering Group (MiE) was privileged to provide engineering services to Income Power Inc. for the design and development of twenty (20) Autel 50 amp AC Elite charging stations for the Detroit Water & Sewerage Department (DWSD) as they decommission end-of-life, light-duty ICE fleet vehicles to a Zero Emission Electric fleet. This project required an immense amount of planning and preparation as the DWSD facility has two primary services to the building, which all feed different areas of the building. Hunting down as-built documentation and conducting a full site evaluation was a huge part of the project and its success. Retrofitting the service feed in the existing primary service switchgear for the charging stations required strategic planning and coordination with the owner, the contractor, the City of Detroit, the Fire Marshal, and Detroit Edison, DTE. The continuous collaboration amongst invested members of this project ensured its success for the client.

Michigan Engineering Group is honored to have provided engineering services on this project and successfully assist the City’s municipal departments develop their investment in clean, zero-emission infrastructure.
